THE PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA AWARDED STATE DECORATIONS TO THE ROSGUARD SERVICEMEN – WINNERS AND MEDALISTS OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES IN BEIJING

By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, athletes who won medals at the Olympic Games in Beijing were awarded the state decorations. Among the awarded 7 servicemen of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.

The Order of Alexander Nevsky was awarded to the three-time Olympic champion in Beijing and six-time Olympic medalist Captain Alexander Bolshunov.

The Order of Honor was awarded to Captain Denis Spitsov, who won gold and silver medals at the 2022 Olympics.

The Order of Friendship was awarded to Major Sergei Ustyugov, the owner of the gold medal for winning the 4x10 ski relay, as well as the winners of the women's ski relay at the XXIV Winter Olympic Games, Captain Tatyana Sorina and Sergeant Veronika Stepanova.

The Medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, I degree, was awarded to the bronze medalist in the short track at a distance of 1500 meters, captain Semyon Yelistratov, and the owner of the bronze medal in the ski-cross of the Olympic Games, freestyler from the Russian Guard, Ensign Sergei Ridzik.

As part of the Russian Olympic team at the Beijing Games, the Russian Guard fought for awards in various disciplines: cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, short track, speed skating, freestyle (ski-cross), curling and skeleton. According to the results of the performances, representatives of Rosguard won 9 medals (4 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze).
