The Chelyabinsk hockey players, who played under contract in the local team and their family members, were evacuated from the city of Kherson with the support of the Special Purpose Mobile Unit (OMON) of the Rosguard Directorate from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
The Rosguard employees ensured safety during the gathering of athletes from several addresses, as well as when driving on suburban roads, which are still unsafe. In addition, a family of local residents was evacuated along with the hockey players.
Currently, all 24 rescued, including three children, are accommodated in one of the hotels of Sevastopol. The governor of the city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, thanked the Special Purpose Mobile Unit officers and noted that they demonstrated the real heroism.
