The Director of Rosguard, Army General Viktor Zolotov, emphasized that the phenomenal talant of Captain Alexander Bolshunov, coupled with great diligance and determination, led to such high sport resaults. At the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, he won five awards: three gold medals, one silver and one bronze medals.
The head of Rosguard highlighted that Bolshunov’s victory once again proved the ability of our skiers to compete with very experienced opponents and earn Olympic awards in a very tight race.
The highly qualified sports instructor of the sports team under the Directorate of the Ural District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, Captain Alexander Bolshunov, finished first in the Mass start at the distance of 24.8 kilometers, completing it in 1 hour 11 minutes and 32.7 seconds. Russian skier Ivan Yakimushkin finished second and won the silver medal.
Due to this victory, the Rosguard officer, Alexander Bolshunov, was proclaimed the «Skiing King» among the Russian fans.
