THE ROSGUARD SPECIAL PURPOSE MOBILE UNIT (OMON) EMPLOYEES ASSISTED THE FEDERAL SECURITY SERVICE (FSB) IN THE DETENTION OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION MEMBERS IN CRIMEA

The Rosguard employees, together with colleagues from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSS), stopped the activities of the members of the international terrorist organization in Crimea, whose work was coordinated from the territory of Ukraine.

The “Berkut” Special Purpose Mobile Unit (OMON) employees took part in the detention of six members of a cell of the Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami terrorist structure (prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation). According to the FSS, the detainees carried out purposeful work to spread terrorist ideology on the territory of our country. In the process of secret meetings, they recruited the inhabitants of Russia from among the local Muslims.

At the places of residence of the detainees, a significant amount of propaganda materials, communication equipment, electronic storage media used in terrorist activities were confiscated. Criminal cases have been initiated. Operational-search activities and investigative actions continue.
