The Russian National Guard personnel, performing service and combat missions in the Zaporozhie region, together with the representatives of the military-civilian administration, visited veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War living in the city of Energodar and its environs.
The Rosguard servicemen congratulated the veterans on the forthcoming New Year and presented them food packages, sweet gifts and, of course, tangerines for the festive table.
The 96 years old veteran Boris Tomilov considered it his duty to meet the Rosguard servicemen with awards on his chest. The veteran, despite his advanced age, received congratulations standing up.
– You are a hero for us and an example for the younger generation. Thank you for your incredible work during those difficult years! – said the Rosguard officer to Boris Tomilov.
– Thank you for not forgetting us! Our cause is right! – answered the veteran.
The veteran also told the Rosguardsmen about his military path.
Even on that day, the servicemen visited and congratulated other participants of the Great Patriotic War, the oldest of whom is 106 years old.
