On the eve of the Heroes of the Fatherland Day in the St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presented the Gold Star medals to the heroes of Russia. Among the recipients is the officer of the Russian National Guard Troops Colonel Sergei Belozerov.
“Today we pay tribute to the heroes of the Fatherland. People of different eras, times, destinies and characters, all of them forever inscribed their names in the history of our state, performed the feats, outstanding deeds - military, labor, civil - in the name of the Motherland, in the name of our people," President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin emphasized.
“I sincerely thank you for serving the Fatherland, for your loyalty to the ideals that have always, at all times, united Russia. I also want to address those who are on the front lines: for me, for all our fellow citizens, each of you is a hero. And I really want you to feel the warmth of our hearts, the warmth of this truly nationwide support,” the head of state said and presented the Gold Star medals to the heroes of Russia.
After the award, the Hero of Russia Colonel Sergei Belozerov spoke in return.
“Comrade Supreme Commander-in-Chief, let me express my gratitude to you, the leadership of the Russian National Guard for such a high assessment of our combat work. Undoubtedly, this is not only my merit, first of all, it is the merit of the fighters and commanders of the Special Forces Units of the Rosguard, their stamina, heroism and loyalty to the oath. Yes, indeed, we carry out difficult combat missions. Mostly very dangerous ones. But it is very important to mention that appropriate combat and special training makes our work effective. I would like to proudly assure you within the framework of my competence that the National Guard Troops will continue to carry out their assigned service and combat tasks at a high level of professionalism for the benefit of the future of our Fatherland,” said the Rosguard officer.
