The Director of the National Guard Troops Federal Service - Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation Army General Viktor Zolotov held a reception for veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Among the invitees are participants in the fight against the nationalist underground in the Baltic States, Western Ukraine and Western Belarus, veterans who guarded communications and important facilities who fought against saboteurs in the rear of the Soviet Army. Thus, Evgeny Chusov and Adolf Elagin performed combat missions to combat banditry in the Baltic States and Western Ukraine. German Androsenko participated in the parade of allied troops on the occasion of the opening of the monument to the Soviet soldiers at the Brandenburg Gate. Mikhail Chernovalov began his military career in the Lugansk Region, at the age of 12 he joined the rifle unit of the Army. Lyudmila Ivanova, Mikhail Dobychin and Adolf Chumakov forged the Victory, working in the rear.
The solemn reception was also attended by the Deputy Directors of the Rosguard, heads of structural divisions and officers of the Central Command, veterans of the department. The participants laid flowers at the monument to the "Warriors of the Internal Troops", the busts of E.F. Komarovsky, F.E. Dzerzhinsky, I.K. Yakovlev.
Addressing the veterans, Army General Viktor Zolotov noted that in the glorious military history of the country, the Law Enforcement Troops have a special place.
The Commander-in-Chief recalled that the soldiers of the Red Army and the NKVD Troops stood shoulder to shoulder in the path of the treacherous aggressor, among the first to join the battle for their native land. The counterintelligence activities of the Law Enforcement Troops became an insurmountable obstacle in the way of spies and saboteurs, and provided a reliable rear for the entire Red Army.
The Director of the Rosguard drew attention to the fact that when the first festive fireworks of the Victory died down, the troops continued to fight the gang underground and banditry, eradicating fascist henchmen in the vastness of our Motherland. The troops attach special importance to the preservation of this historical heritage.
Army General Viktor Zolotov noted that more than one generation has grown up in our country on the example of steadfastness, patience and courage of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The youth will always remain faithful to the historical lessons of the past and pass this legacy on to future defenders of the Fatherland.
The Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
“Today, your heroism inspires new generations of soldiers and officers, gives strength to resist the resurgent neo-Nazism and revive peaceful life. And now, when Russia is fighting for its future, every step we take, in battle or in everyday life, is in the name of the Victory. The Victory of the past and the upcoming Victory," the Director of the Rosguard said.
