Among the key tasks of the Rosguard are the fight against terrorism, extremism and organized crime, the protection of significant, strategic facilities, ensuring law and order during mass events, and the supervision of weapons circulation.
All these are complicated and extremely responsible areas of work that require high professionalism and consistency, strict observance of the law and continuous focus on achieving specific, tangible results for the security of our society and state, reliable protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.
I want to thank you for such an efficient and faithful service, for your loyalty to your duty and oath, for your adherence to the heroic traditions that were established by many generations of your predecessors, starting with the Internal Guard battalions created in Russia more than two hundred years ago.
Today I want to say special words of gratitude and appreciation to the veterans of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Special Purpose Mobile Units (OMON), Special Rapid Response Units (SOBR), and a number of other services that have become the basis of the modern Russian National Guard.
Let me emphasize that at all stages of the formation and development of the Rosguard, its main support has been and remains the honor and valor of personnel and commanders, their devoted service to the Fatherland and our people.
I am sure that you are well aware of this direct historical continuity, you understand what a huge responsibility has been entrusted to you, and you prove this with your daily difficult work.
In the course of the special military operation, the heroes of the National Guard act bravely and decisively, protecting Russia and our citizens, they fight courageously, and in the most difficult situations they demonstrate resilience and fearlessness.
